"
Seasoned baseball manager Torre organizes his leadership wisdom into 12 key principles that can be applied to any situation in which you are managing or reporting to other people. Steadiness, optimism, serenity and mutual respect are some of the keys, and it's impressive in these times to hear him promote absolute loyalty in relationships, even when people are making your life miserable. He gives great examples of his ability to understand people and to work with their individual differences without sacrificing the team's purpose or integrity. It's a great story/lesson that's been seamlessly abridged, and Torre reads it in a natural way with a deep, secure speaking voice. This is a genuine listening treat. "

Review by Carol Farash from Continental Magazine
“This isn’t just the nth motivational book on management philosophy. While some critics view motivational narratives as nothing more than touchy-feely mumbo jumbo, advocates argue that what makes a winning delivery is unique perspective and at least one story about overcoming adversity. Torre’s book scores high on both counts. Tales abound from the sanctums of baseball, as Torre offers analogies and advice for dealing with life’s unavoidable Uncle Charlies….
So even though this kind of book should be read in ‘small bites,’ I recommend reading this one from cover to cover, because as Yogi—and Torre—would tell you, ‘It aint’ over till it’s over.’?
